About us
Our Aims
We had the idea of opening a farm shop some years ago, so that we could
sell our beef and lamb direct to the public along with the free range
eggs which we already sold at the farm door. These things are never as simple as they
seem and obstacles and costs always seemed to get in the way. Confident that what we
had to sell was the best, we persevered. Along the way we realised that there were an
awful lot of other farmers and small rural businesses out there with excellent products
to sell and we bought and tried them ourselves for the several years it took to get our
shop up and running. We maybe gained a few pounds along the way but we found some
excellent food, much of which is from Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Our priority from the outset was to sell and promote British Farm Food which we
know to be the best there is. We aim to give as much information as possible
about where our stock comes from, ideally which farm it is grown or made on and for
that to be as local as possible. Obviously our oranges and bananas and certain other
fruits can't fill this criteria but the majority of what we sell does so and we
will happily give as much information as possible about everything in our shop.

Our Livestock
Our own herd of pedigree Welsh Black Cattle, a
traditional hill breed of suckled cattle, has been naturally reared in Delph
since 1970, and has recently been judged by top chefs to yield the very best
beef.
Our eggs come from our happy hens that are able to range the farm freely.
In addition to our own farm-reared meat and eggs, Albion Farm Shop also stocks
an extensive and varied range of traditional British Farm foods from a number of
carefully selected producers.
Our flock of pedigree Dorset Horn and Polled Dorest sheep, together with native
hill breed of Lonk and Gritstone, thrive on the Cattleshaw Moor and Valley
producing succulent, lean and tender lamb.
